If I had a pound for every time this was searched on Google, I’d be a billionaire!
If you’re still looking for a “get rich quick” scheme online, I’m sorry, but they don’t exist. There are plenty of these so called schemes out there right now, and you’ve probably seen a more recent advert constantly popping up on YouTube. They tell you that they have the best way you can make money in a short space of time, and all you have to do is believe in yourself.
Too good to be true?
They will go on to tell you all of their so called ‘secrets’ and techniques….hmmm… I don’t think so. For a small investment you can get an online shop selling these random items. These shops are actually a template you choose. You get the money from the sale of the item and what’s better, you don’t have to handle the product….Oh and here’s the link to the shop building site… Wow!! Thats sounds amazing right?
Wait a minute!
Here’s the bit they don’t tell you. The link they provide you to set up the free online shop is actually owned by the very same person in the advert. The shop template also comes with T’s & C’s because, it’s only a trial period, after which a subscription is required, thus making the owners more money. And to top it all off, all of your sales will be charged a fee a bit like eBay. Can you see a pattern here? The only one who is getting rich quick is the the person in the advert you followed.
What about the products? Well these are cheap Chinese manufactured, gift shop products, and really aren’t worth that much. (this may not be the case for all products)
What if these products should go wrong? Who do you think is liable? Well it’s not the owners of the shop template builder, it’s actually you, because any online sale is now covered by the Consumer Contracts Regulations. There are some slightly different rules if you are offering custom made items online.
Avoid at all costs.
So my advise is to stop looking for get rich quick schemes and just think for a moment. The very reason any given scheme is started in the first place is because the person that created it will make money from it.
So what can i do?
Ask yourself some questions:
- Do I have a skill or trade?
- Do I have niche things I could sell?
- Have I got something that everyone else could want or need?
If you can answer yes to one or all of those questions, then you can get yourself a website and start promoting yourself and/or your goods. Let me tell you for certain, it’s not a get rich quick scheme and requires work and dedication, with massive rewards, both financially and emotionally.
And finally, if you would like more information on getting a website, please feel free to have a mooch around on my site. Or alternatively you can get in touch using the Contact Page
